No less than 10 persons were apparently slaughtered in conflicts between suspected Fulani herders and ranchers in two groups in Niger State.
It was learnt that the conflicts happened at Bokuta town, Bosso Local Government Area, and Tungan Mallam town in the Paikoro LGA.
While six were murdered in the Bokuta conflict, four kicked the bucket in the Tungan Mallam scuffle.
An inhabitant of Bokuta, who distinguished himself just as Isiaq, said inconvenience began in the group on Thursday, July 7, when some herders attacked a ranch with their dairy cattle and annihilated its product.
He said the ranch proprietor drew in the herders in a fight, amid which one of the intruders was murdered while another was harmed.
"The next day, herders went on a retaliation and shot five ranchers dead. The town was in turmoil and no one could go out for two days. It was the police and military men who in the long run came to reestablish peace," he included.
