An announcement issued on Friday night by the Deputy Director (Press) in the Ministry of Labor, Samuel Olowookere, for the benefit of the Minister of Labor and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, clarified that the activity would prompt "baseless hardship on the people".

He said, "Strike neither illuminates mechanical question nor adds to modern development. Our economy is now reeling from serious discharge occasioned by decade long bungle. Further activity, which stunts the endeavors as of now being made to alter the course, ought to consequently be disregarded.
