With Arsenal hoping to win the EPL title, Wilshere trusts Xhaka will be a star for the Gunners.
"I've played against him a couple times at youth level for England furthermore for the main group with England, so I know him entirely well," Wilshere told the official Arsenal site.
"I've generally thought he was a decent player, he's extremely solid and has a decent left foot.
"He's a pioneer, he can hold the midfield together and can get things going from back to front. He's a decent marking."
Xhaka could make his introduction for Arsenal when they tackle the MLS All-Star group on Thursday in San Jose.
