The Police on Tuesday revealed a store of ammo covered at a development site at Umuowelle, Agulu in Anaocha board zone of Anambra State.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Nkeiru Nwode, said the ammo were uncovered by a few workers who were burrowing the establishment of the building .
Nwode said the laborers answered to Neni Police Division which went to the spot and cordoned it off.
She said the revelation which was in various sizes and gauges was worth a great many the naira.
She said the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Sam Kaula drove a group of officers to site to manage the departure of the ammo.
She said "The Police at the beginning of today found a vast amount of ammo at a bundle of area where building work was going ahead at Umuowelle, Agulu in Anaocha.
"A few workers at the site struck at the ammo and answered to the closest Police division and at the beginning of today, the Commissioner was there to by and by see things for himself.
"The ammo are extensive, and is worth a huge number of Naira, examination is still on and soon we should get to the foundations of this".
She said the package of area had a place with a unidentified man who lived in Enugu.
Nwode said no captures had been made while the ammo had been sent to the proper units for determination of their bores.
She asked the general population in the region to resist the urge to panic as the police were on top of the circumstance.
